How’s it going, everybody? Welcome back. In this article, we’re going to look at the Blue Yeti available on the market today. I’ve been using the Blue Yeti for about five years now. And I’ve never updated it. I’ve never kind of even upgraded it with anything I don’t. I’ve never used any filters or anything like that. I’ve just used the raw Blue Yeti, as it is. Five years ago, it was a little bit more expensive. Now it’s a little bit cheaper. So I got mine for $160 or $165, you can find, you know, the silver one. So it seems like it’s $130. But you can actually find other colors that could be a little bit cheaper.
So, you know, probably a red or a blue one, you might be able to get them for like, I don’t know, $100 or so depending on the offers going on in your country. But we’re talking about the United States here. So it seems like it’s at $130 on Amazon, now, you can get, maybe, let’s say you’re looking for a cheaper one, you know, I could get the nano, I guess for $90. But I would definitely recommend that you dish out just you know, it’s an extra $40 for more of a reliable piece of hardware that will last a lifetime. You know, I’ve been, like I said, I’ve been using mine for about five years.
And you know, whether you’re a musician, or you’re a podcaster, or whatever it is, you know, here, you’ll see that it’s got four pattern modes, you know, the cardioid mode, the stereo mode, omnidirectional and bi-directional, bi-directional will record from both sides, if, if two people are sitting in front of each other, and they’re kind of having a little bit of a talk, let’s say it’s a podcast and you only have one mic, you can do that. omnidirectional, you can use that for environments or you know, bands or something like that. the stereo mode will be your way to go. When it comes to letting’s say you’re recording a guitar or some kind of instrument, violin, whatever it is. And cardioid mode is what I’m using right now, which will record from only, you know, the one direction that I’m speaking, had the microphone, so to say.
So, you know, if you have if you know anyone that wants to that has been trying to let’s say, start a YouTube channel, or wants to get into streaming, or maybe you do, and you’re not sure which kind of microphone you want to go for, because there are many brands out there. And a lot of them are really good, but a lot of them are really expensive at the same time. So, you know, if you’re looking probably for the kind of it’s, I mean, the Blue Yeti isn’t really that cheap, but it’s not expensive, by no means. Because if you look at the other VPN, if you just kind of dig into the Nord VPN, if you dig into the other microphones, you’ll find that the prices are a bit on the higher end of the spectrum because microphones professional microphones are usually super expensive.
Because I mean, if you’re going for quality, you’re gonna have to pay for it. But with the Yeti, you’re still getting that quality. And you know, it’s gonna last a lifetime. I’m telling you, I’ve been using it for about five years now. And you know, I don’t see any reason why I should be changing my microphone anytime soon. The only time I would be upgrading it is if it just you know, breaks, and it doesn’t seem to be breaking anytime soon.
So I think it’s really just one of the best blue microphones out there. Now you can go for the pro version, which will change the kind of materials on it and stuff like that, but you know, we’re talking about something a little bit more affordable, you know, this is $250, whereas this is $130. So that’s $120 difference, that’s quite the jump on like the small bump here from 90 to 130 which is you know, if you’re gonna pay $90 you might as well get yourself a much better piece of hardware that will last the lifetime so if you guys are interested in it, I’ll leave links in the description down below besides that, I’ll see you guys in the next one.
